The City of Laredo Parks & Recreation Department is excited to present “The City of Laredo Marathon 3rd Edition”. The Laredo Marathon is officially certified by the United States Track & Field (USATF) and serves as a Boston Marathon Qualifier. The 26.2-mile course begins at Uni-Trade Stadium and ends at the parking lot of the Outlet Shoppes at Laredo, offering a scenic and challenging route through the heart of Laredo. Last year, we had 3 runners with qualifying times for the Boston Marathon.

Packet Pickup

When: Nov. 15, 2025

Location: L&F Distributors- 410 Crossroads Loop, Laredo, TX 78045

Time: 12 pm – 5 pm

Day of the Race: 5:30 am- 6:30 am

 

Transportation and Parking at The Outlet Mall

Buses will be available to transport runners from the Outlet Mall (finish line) to the starting points for the marathon and half-marathon. Free Parking will be at the Outlets Mall parking lot.

Marathon:

From the Outlets Parking Lot (Finish Line) to Unitrade Stadium (Start) – 5:30 am & 6:00 am

Half Marathon:

From the Outlets Parking Lot (Finish Line) to Unitrade Stadium at 5:30 am & 6:00 am, and from the Halfway point back to Unitrade Stadium every hour after 8:30 am.

Relay:

From Unitrade to halfway point: 8:30 am

Awards

Monetary awards for the overall 1,2, & 3 Men & Women in the Marathon Distance,  1st place overall Half Marathon men & women, and 1st place overall Relay. We follow the RRCA Fair Competition Policies.

All prize money winners may be required to complete the appropriate tax information to receive checks.

Any U.S. citizen or resident alien who qualifies for prize money may be required to pay taxes on the gross amount. W-9 forms with a Social Security Number or Tax ID and signature are required by the United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

Any non-resident alien who qualifies for prize money may be subject to Income Tax withholding, which will be deducted from the prize money as required by the United States IRS.

Age group awards are based on one’s age on race day.

Courtesy support van

Should you find yourself unable to complete the entire course due to either physical or time limitations, the Support Van is available to assist you. Go to the nearest Medical Aid Station, and the van will pick you up here and take you to the finish line. There will be water and electrolyte drinks for hydration on the vehicles, and the vehicles will be climate-controlled.

Course Time Limit

The time limit for the half-marathon is four hours. Finishers above a four-hour chip time will not have an official result. They will be picked up by the courtesy van.

The time limit for the marathon is six hours. Finishers above a six-hour chip time will not have an official result. They will be picked up by the courtesy van.

Prohibited Items on the Course

There are a number of items that are not allowed on the course. Here is a partial list of what is NOT allowed on the course: runners going backward; runners not wearing a bib; animals; bicycles; baby joggers; strollers; roller skates and rollerblades; and any wheeled vehicles. 

Course Certification
